Milk Unleashed - Shelf Safe Milk Review + a Giveaway!

I have to admit that I was a little bit skeptical about trying shelf-safe milk when I first heard about it.  After all, we were brought up with the strict rule that milk should always be in the fridge to avoid spoilage.

Welcome to 2013.

Milk Unleashed is a brand of shelf safe milk that doesn't require refrigeration until it's open.  If you have a child {or children} that love milk as much mine do, you'll know that having milk on hand is a must - and Milk Unleashed has taken care of the hard part for us!

What is shelf safe milk?  According to Milk Unleashed it's "Grade A fluid milk that requires no refrigeration until the package is opened, thanks to ultra pasteurization and special Tetra Pak cartons that preserve all the wholesome goodness of milk.  Now kids can get the vitamins and nutrients of milk anytime, anywhere".

Can you believe that shelf safe milk has actually been around since 1960?! Guess my 2013 comment is invalid now!  So why is Canada only hearing about it recently?  It seems we're a little behind on the logical trend which is has been popular in Europe and South America for years, as well as in countries that may not have ideal access to chilled distribution centers.

Thankfully, Milk Unleashed is providing families all across Canada with the chance to have milk ready for their children when they want it, wherever they want it.  Not only is it convenient, but it's also nutritious - one 250 mL contains half of the daily recommended vitamin intake!  Shelf safe milk is the same nutritious milk we've all grown to love, only the pasteurization process and packaging is different from the traditional refrigerated milk.
